Wednesday, February 27, 2008 Dear Parents: This is a reminder that we will be administering the Stanford Achievement Test during the week of March 3rd. The Stanford is given annually to students in grades 1 - 8. It is not an intelligence test. This type of testing gives us an indication of the progress our students have made so that we can plan the next school year. Please encourage your child to approach this week of testing with a positive attitude. All we ask is that they do their best. We do not, nor should you, expect your child to know all the answers. The students cannot fail this test. Test scores do not affect your child's promotion to the next grade. In order for the students to perform at their best level, we ask that they get a good night's sleep, eat a healthy breakfast and be encouraged by Mom and/or Dad on the way to school. Since the third quarter of school is over and this week is aside for testing, the students will not homework. IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THAT ALL STUDENTS ARRIVE AT SCHOOL ON TIME. Once testing has begun, students will not be allowed to enter the classroom until that portion of testing has been completed. If the student arrives late, they will stay in the office until the teacher notifies us that they are between tests. We will do make-up testing in the afternoon in the administrative office. Students in grades 4-8 must bring at least two (2) No.2 pencils. (all day)

This Friday, March 7th, beginning at 1:00 p.m. we will have Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament with solemn benediction beginning after the 12:05 p.m. Mass. Adoration will close just before the 7:30 a.m. on Saturday. It does not matter whether you are a regular First Friday adorer or you have never been to First Friday Adoration, I strongly encourage you to come. I invite you to come as a family to give First Friday Adoration a try. I even invite and encourage the various groups of the parish to pick an hour or more to come. This is a great way for us to express our appreciation and love to Jesus for having given us himself in so humble a way. Please sign up for an hour on one of the sign-up sheets located at the doors of the church. | ||

Mark your calendars - Stewardship Retreat - March 29th As we all know our faith community is working together to deepen our commitment to being good stewards of our time, talent and treasure. It flows from our commitment to being a true follower of Jesus. Jesus made it clear that it is his mission and therefore our mission to bring about the kingdom of God here on earth. Stewardship is central to this mission of Jesus. As individuals and as a community contributing our time, talent and treasure to creating a just society ruled by compassion and love, we come closer to being Christ for others and bringing the peace of Christ into our world. Stewardship Leadership Retreat is scheduled for: The Stewardship Leadership Retreat is open to all who are interested in learning more about Stewardship.
