RCIA Rite of Election: As we begin the Lenten season, this is a time of prayer and reflection for the adults and children who have been in the process of the Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA). On the first Sunday of Lent, we prayed over our candidates and catechumens in preparation for their presentation to Bishop Aymond at the Rite of Election. Over the course of Lent, we will be celebrating a Penitential Rite for baptized Candidates wanting to be fully initiated into the Catholic Church and Scrutinies for those Elect who will be baptized at the Easter Vigil on March 22nd. These Rites will take place on each Sunday (February 17 - March 9) at the 9a.m. Mass.

We invite you to enter into this Lenten journey with our Elect (formerly called Catechumens) and Candidates as they prepare for their Baptism and Full Communion in the Catholic Church.

Welcome Catachumens and Candidates of RCIA

St. Ignatius celebrated the Rite of Acceptance and Welcoming Sunday, November 11th, at the 9:00 a.m. Mass. The Rite of Acceptance is for those seeking Baptism in the Catholic Church. In our parish the adults are Joseph Agüero, Kelly Brigance, Christian Edwards, Cindy Montez, Bill Nichols, Justin Sanders, and Thomas Wolf.

The Rite of Welcoming is for those baptized Christians who seek to be received into the full communion of the Catholic Church or for baptized but uncatechized Catholics who seek to complete their initiation through the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist. They are Lisa Hanley, Jason Martinez, Dana Roehr, Tony Roehr and Lindley Dodson.
Also participating in this Rite were six children who are participating in the Christian Initiation for Children. Please see the printed bulletin for their names.

Let us keep these women, men and youth in prayer as they continue their journey of faith and conversion with us.

We have a need for sponsors, hospitality ministers and catechists. Please contact Sr. Helen Marie at the Church Office or by e-mail if you are interested in joining us.
