From the Pastor: Pastoral Council and Harvest of Justice
On June 23, eight members of the parish attended the Pastoral Council Discernment retreat to discern four new members for the Pastoral Council. The four new members are: Cindi Robles, Eric Staveley, Shawndra Hall and Rose Marie Sauer. I would like to thank them for coming forward and for offering their time and talents to be a part of the Pastoral Council and to serve the parish in this way. I would also like to express my sincere appreciation to the outgoing Pastoral Council members: Lin Murray, Stephen J. Palmer, Gary Easterling and Leonor Arzarte for their three years of service on the Pastoral Council. You served your faith community well. Thank you.
On behalf of all us here at St. Ignatius, Martyr, I would like to publicly thank Sean McGuire, our Pastoral Associate and his team, consisting of Nathan Thompson, Rich Radcliffe, Martha and Jack Kern and Jane Rupert for a very successful and informative presentation on social justice presented on June 30. The conference was called "Harvest of Justice" and featured Bishop Aymond as one of the speakers. I appreciate Sean and the work of his team in preparing and presenting this conference. Many hours went into the planning, preparing and carrying out of this great conference. Through their gift of their time and talent, these six parishioners showed that stewardship for them is a way of life.
Fr. Joe Tomei, C.S.C.
