1st Grade

I grew up in Hallettsville, Texas and attended Sacred Heart Catholic School from kindergarten through high school graduation. I graduated from Texas State University in 2001 with an emphasis in Child Development. This is my 4th year here and I am really enjoying teaching 1st grade! I love teaching in a Catholic school, knowing that I can help my students establish their faith. The community feeling that is here at St. Ignatius is so welcoming. Everyone here is so lucky to be a part of such a great school family.

My goal for this year is to have each of my students realize how smart they truly are and hopefully they will all feel like they can accomplish whatever they put their minds to. I also hope to continue them in the direction of being respectful and responsible children with a strong Catholic faith.

1st Grade - Aide

I have an associate degree from Blinn College. This is my fifth year assisting teachers and students at St. Ignatius Martyr School. My focus is working with young children. My time here has enabled me to work with all age levels of early childhood. I hope to take the experience, earn a bachelor's degree and have my own classroom within the next few years.

I take pleasure in teaching young minds about the world and God's plans for us in it. I believe it is important for children to gain as much knowledge as they are capable. However, it is just as important to understand Christian values and to live them accordingly. Supporting St. Ignatius School's faculty, parents and students has been a worthwhile endeavor for me.

South Austin has been my home since 1982. My husband of 23 years, Steve Lamoreaux, and I have been blessed with two beautiful, bright, and healthy children. Luke is 19 and in his second year of college. Gabrielle is a senior honors student at Crockett High School. We have two pets: a Chow mix dog named Sandy and Fluffy, a 3 ½ foot long corn snake. In my free time I like to read, listen to live music, (especially my son's band, The Plasticine Porters), watch movies and go snorkeling.
