A diocesan sponsored program to help those in need who are pregnant and have no where to turn. Helps with counseling, baby clothes, furniture, etc.

Requirements: A desire to provide help, love, and care to pregnant women in need.
Time Commitment: One hr/monthly (2nd Sunday, 6-7 p.m.) plus as needed.

The Gabriel Project Mother's Day Diaper Drive

Next weekend at all Masses the Gabriel Project will have their annual Mother's Day weekend Diaper Drive. Before and after all Masses a representative will be in the Church Foyer collecting diapers (sizes 3 and 4) and wipes. Thank You!

Community Ministry News March 9

Attention lectors: Our regularly scheduled Lector Study Group will meet on Tuesday, March 11th at 6:30 p.m. in the Church. Please come prepared to go over the proclamations for March 15th through April 6th. Thanks for your continued Stewardship to this Ministry.

The Gabriel Project will have their monthly meeting March 9th at 6:15 p.m. in the Father Payne House. Parishioner, Mary Jane Tobar will be speaking about the federal program WIC. Everyone is invited to attend.

Come join us on Thursday, March 13th, 7:00-8:00 p.m. in the Rectory Living Room at the Church Office building for Stephen Ministry's Continuing Education Program. The topic is "Pandemic Flu Preparedness" with guest speaker Linda Cox, Austin-Travis County Health and Human Services.

The Stephen Ministry training class has been postponed. There were not enough people who came forward. Stephen Ministry depends on you to meet the needs of those in our faith community who need someone to listen, to care, and to empathize as they face a challenging time in their lives. This one-on-one caring ministry responds according to the number of ministers we have available. Was someone there for you when you needed help and support? Think about returning the favor. Community Ministry News Feb. 17

If you are an Extraordinary Minister of the Holy Eucharist who ministers to the home bound, retirement home community and hospital patients, or would like to give of yourself in this ministry please make plans to attend the required training on Wednesday, February 20th at 7:00 p.m. in the Annex Chapel.

This is a wonderful ministry of giving a small amount of your time each week to bring the Holy Eucharist to fellow parishioners. We are in constant need of people who feel called to this ministry.

The February Lector Study Group date and place has been moved for February only to help support the Parish Mission. Lectors will meet on February 19th from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. in the school library, on the second floor north side of the Family Center. If you're scheduled to proclaim in late February or early March, please come with your reading prepared.

THE PSALMS: class two, offered twice (once on Monday, February 18th morning and once on Wednesday, February 20th evening); co-facilitated by Rabbi Monty Eliasov, President of the Twelve Tribe Torah Institute and Rabbi of Congregation Shalom Rav in Austin, Texas, and Mike Richardson, a member of the St. Ignatius, Martyr community active in the facilitation of Centering Prayer and other adult faith formation ministries; (see flyer in distribution racks).

South Austin Young Adult Catholics: Join us today, October 14th, at 7p.m. at Westgate Lanes located at Westgate and William Cannon. Bring $$ for shoes, food, and beverages. Bible Study continues on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at San José in Room 1C

Learn, Grow and Serve by Becoming a Stephen Minister. Do you have gifts for caring, encouragement, and listening? If so, prayerfully consider becoming a Stephen Minister. Stephen Ministers provide emotional and spiritual support to people who are going through a difficult time, such as divorce, grief, unemployment, terminal illness, or loneliness. Prison Ministry

Looking for some way to help someone? Not sure what you might do? Please visit our monthly Prison Ministry Meeting on Friday, July 13th at 6:00 PM in the Annex at 2305 Euclid Avenue. You can hear about the programs we are involved in....maybe you will decide to help.

Some persons visit the incarcerated youth, others visit adults one-on-one. Each person we see is deeply grateful for our one-hour per week visit. Or you might find meeting for the Rosary of Mercy on Execution Days calls to you. There are many ways to serve. Make a visible difference!

Gabriel Project

The Gabriel Project welcomes your participation in their Mother's Day Diaper and Baby Wipe Drive. Please bring any donations of diapers (Size Newborn - Three) and/or baby wipes to any of the masses on May 12-13. You can put your donations in the portable crib that will located in the back of the church. These items will be given to moms in need of assistance for their new babies.
