Altar Servers

Altar Servers

Assists the celebrant during liturgical celebrations. Servers are prayer leaders and need to be attentive throughout Mass. They are examples for the community as they pray, listen and sing during Mass.

Requirements: Open to all children of the parish age 9 and up; First Holy Communion recipient; must be available to serve during the entire Mass; need to arrive 15 minutes prior to Mass;
Training: New altar servers must attend required Altar Server Training; attend meetings as scheduled periodically
Time Commitment: Once per month approximately.

General Parish News October 14

Year of the Word presentations: Catholicism is based on Scripture, yet many Catholics know very little about the Bible. To help Catholics learn more about sacred Scripture, Bishop Gregory Aymond will present "The Word Dwells Among Us" at St. Ignatius, Martyr, Catholic Church on October 17th and 18th the celebration of the Year of the Word. The first date is the bishop's presentation and the second is the evening of reflection offered by Patricia Stankus and Cheryl Maxwell. All presentations begin at 7 p.m. Simultaneous Spanish interpretation will be available.
